The drought in Europe in the summer of 2022 was the worst in 500 years. This is indicated by data from the Copernicus - The European Earth Observation Programme, managed by the EU Commission and the European Space Agency. Images recorded by the Sentinel 2 satellite show that between July 1 and August 31, vast regions went from bright green to arid brown. The most severe damage is clearly visible in southeastern Britain, northern France and Germany, Poland and eastern Europe.
