Reserve "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra" terminates the lease agreement with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church accused of being linked to the Moscow Patriarchate, with the demand to move out of the monastery by 29 March, as local media reported. Since its foundation as the cave monastery in 1051, the Lavra has been a preeminent center of Eastern Orthodox Christianity in Eastern Europe. Together with the Saint Sophia Cathedral, the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra has been inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990.
