Awa Odori returns in full form in Tokushima after being curtailed during the pandemic

Tokushima, Japan, 12 August 2023, After several years of restriction because of the pandemic, the Awa Odori festival of the city of Tokushima in Japan returned to its festive habits. Dancers clad in kimono, getas and Torioigasa (the braided straw hat) danced wildly in the streets of Tokushima to the sound of traditional Japanese instruments.
