Historical Regatta 2023 in Venice

The historic regatta returned to give Venice and its visitors the magic of re-enactment and tradition. Dozens of gondolas and historical boats, richly decorated and prepared by the expert hands of Venetian craftsmen, rowed along the city's Grand Canal. The first historical record of the event dates back to 1274, but according to some historians, the tradition of parading along the lagoon city's main waterway dates back as far as 942. Thousands of tourists admired the colourful parade on the waters of the Grand Canal. Venice, 3 September, 2023.
