Polish left denounces ruling right wing parties, does not rule out cooperation

Warsaw city council member and New Left candidate in the upcoming parliamentary elections Agata Diduszko-Zyglewska is seen at a rally in Warsaw, Poland on 16 September, 2023. In the upcoming October elections no major party is polling with a majority which may prompt either side to form a coalition with the far-right 'Confederation' party. The much smaller party is currently polling around 10 percent and is seen as a potential kingmaker. Both ruling and opposition parties however are apprehensive towards cooperation as Confederation is an outspoken and-EU, andti-LGBT party with an ultra-conservative view on women's rights. Furthermore Confederation has made known it's intention to completely abolish any aid to Ukraine and Ukrainians in Poland despite the later having been one of the most generous providers of civil and military aid since the start of the Russian invasion.
