Assisi Celebrates San Francesco On October 4th

(FILE VIDEO) Every year on October 4th Assisi celebrates its Patron Saint San Francesco, through christian celebrations and lay events. Video shows exterior and interior of Basilica of San Francesco in Assisi, a renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site in Italy. It consists of two churches, the Upper Church and the Lower Church, both adorned with exquisite frescoes depicting the life of Saint Francis. Pilgrims and tourists visit to admire its art, architecture, and spiritual significance. Upper basilica was built in the 13th century and contains frescoes by Giotto and other Italian masters. The lower basilica was built in the 12th century and contains the tomb of Saint Francis. All videos were taken in Assisi, Italy, on april 2022.
