Daily life in Warsaw

A disused building is seen in the Wola district in Warsaw, Poland on November 18, 2019. The Wola district was heavily damaged during World War II and contains many buildings subject to claims by Jewish Poles whose assets were seized by the post-war communist government. The US has passed a bill, the JUST act also known as law 447 requiring the State Department to report to Congress about the steps taken in several countries on compensation to survivors. The law has gained notoriety in Poland where many disputes exist over ownership of assets of which no proper documents exist stating the history of ownership.
