Global Coronavirus cases top 16 million

The COVID-19 Dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University has officially reported that global COVID-19 confirmed cases have surpassed 16 million. A quarter of these cases have occurred in the United States, despite the US making up only 5% of the World’s population. Brazil has the next highest case total at just under 2.4 million. COVID deaths have also reached 645,192 with 146,484 of those occurring in the United States. Brazil is also ranked second in COVID-19 deaths reported with 86,449. New York is ranked first in the United States for Coronavirus deaths, with 32,608 fatalities reported. New Jersey follows New York on the list with nearly 16,000 reported deaths.
