Aftermath of fire at Moria Refugee Camp

Inside the remainings, cinder and ashes of the burned Moria refugee camp. The aftermath of Moria hotspot camp that after the fire relocated the homeless asylum seekers on the road. The first reception and identification unit, one of the largest refugee and migrant camps and facilities in Europe was ruined completely along with all the infrastructure and construction. The blaze that broke out and burned the official camp facilities containers but also the fires destroyed most of the makeshift camp with the tents on the olive grove. The blaze began a few hours after the Greek government via the migration ministry announced that people in the camp who have been tested positive for Covid-19 Coronavirus would be relocated into quarantine facilities to prevent the spread of the pandemic. Police arrested and brought to courts young Afghans accusing them to have initiated the fires. Moria camp was located near the island's capital port town Mytilene or Mitilini.
