The Grand Place began construction in the 11th century and was largely complete by the 17th. Grand Place is the most important tourist destination, an attraction with cafes, restaurants and museums and most memorable landmark in Brussels, one of the most visited squares in Europe. It is also considered one of the most beautiful squares in the world and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998.
