Hundreds protest in Paris against war in Ukraine

At least a thousand people took part in the demonstration organised in Paris against the war in Ukraine, against Vladimir Putin's policies and against the risk of Marine Le Pen winning the French elections. The demonstration, which was attended en masse by the Ukrainian community in Paris but not only, started on the Place de la République and ended on the Place de la Bastille. All along the route, the crowd of participants chanted anti-Putin, anti-war slogans and called far-right candidate Marine Le Pen an 'accomplice of Putin's war crimes'. Several public and political figures called for a vote for Emmanuel Macron to avoid the election of Le Pen whose policies are inspired by the most authoritarian regimes in Europe, from Putin to Orban. SOT Denis, volunteer: "We are the representatives of the France-Ukraine medical aid charity. We send material and aid to the civilian wounded and injured in the war, directly to the hospitals on the spot, with which we have contacts, to distribute the material that arrives from France”.
