The sister of a soldier from the Azov battalion, Iana Berezina, launches an appeal for the release of the Ukrainian soldiers barricaded in the Azovstal steelworks in Mariupol. The woman, together with her sister-in-law, Kateryna Plechystova, delivered a letter to the Turkish embassy in Rome asking President Erdogan to act as a mediator for the rescue of the soldiers in the steelworks. Berezina and Plechystova were received by an official on May 13, 2022 in Rome, Italy.
