Around 57,000 people affected, 3 killed in India's Assam floods

Flood affected villagers are transported in a boat to a safer place in Hojai District of Assam ,India on May 16,2022.As per the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), 222 villages have been affected by the incessant rainfall. In Cachar 138 villages have been affected, in Dhemaji 2, in Hojai 34, in Karbi Anglong West 5, in Nagaon 39 and in Nalbari 4.According to the ASDMA bulletin, around 10321.44 hectares of cultivated land has submerged under flood waters.ver 56 thousand people affected in 7 districts, IAF rescues 119 train passengers.
