The European Medicines Agency (EMA) said on Thursday that it had given the green light to two vaccines that target the omicron variant of COVID-19. ''These vaccines are adapted versions of the original vaccines Comirnaty (Pfizer/BioNTech) and Spikevax (Moderna) to target the Omicron BA.1 subvariant in addition to the original strain o'' the coronavirus, an EMA statement explained.
