Around 150 people belonging to the Yellow Vest movement gathered at the Place de la Republique in Paris to protest against the government and the policies of President Emmanuel Macron, in Paris, France, on September 10, 2022. The demonstration, which was initially supposed to take place at the Place de la Porte de Saint-Claud, was improvised, outside of an official declaration filed with the prefecture. In fact, the intervention of the police was practically immediate as soon as the demonstrators overturned and set fire to rubbish bins and damaged other elements of street furniture. About 40 people were quickly surrounded by the police and the BAC, the special anti-riot police corps.
