Devotees purchases an idol of Goddess Laxmi ahead of Laxmi Puja in nagaon District of Assam ,India on Oct 9,2022. Lakshmi puja is the festival of worshipping goddess Lakshmi , the Hindu goddess of wealth and prosperity. It is celebrated on full moon day after Durga Dashami ( the last day of Durga puja ) . Devotees believe that on the day of Lakshmi puja , the goddess visits her devotees home , bringing with her good wealth and prosperity for the family. Woman's of the family worships Goddess Lakshmi on the day after cleaning their house and drawing Alpona on the floor to invite the goddess into ones home.
