People search for useful goods at debris after the Railway authority demolishes illegally constructed houses during an eviction drive in Nagaon District of Assam ,India on Nov 10,2022.The bulldozers swung into action in Nagaon ,India against illegal encroachers on Thursday . There were many illegal structures in the railway lands particularly in Morikolong and many other areas in Nagaon town.The encroachers have occupied the railway lands in Morikolong area for a long period of time. Lot of temples, clubs and shops have been built.the Railway authority had evicted more than 500 illegal structures using bulldozers that include temples, clubs, shops and other business establishments.Sources from Railway said that they had already served eviction notice against illegal encroachers three months back but nobody followed the notice. So the authority was compelled to carry out the eviction drive.
