Animal lovers and activists, who had been called together by the Animal Rights Federation in Izmir on November 27, 2022, protested the animal massacres in Turkey. Video footage containing graphic images of an officer worker in an animal shelter belonging to the Konya Metropolitan Municipality torturing and killing a dog in the shelter appeared on social media on November 24, causing reactions all over Turkey. An investigation was launched after the footage caused indignation, and two people were detained and arrested as a result.
