On January 15, 2023, villagers in Nagaon district of Assam, India, celebrated Magh Bihu, burning a traditional Assamese Meji, a house made of straw, as part of the ritual of Meji Jwaluwa. Magh Bihu is celebrated with great enthusiasm in different parts of India, such as Magh Bihu in Assam, Lohri in Punjab, Makar Sankranti in Northern India, Uttarayan in Gujarat, or Pongal in Tamil Nadu.
