On January 25, 2023, a group of seals were observed near an iceberg in Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. Jökulsárlón is a large glacial lake located in the southern part of Vatnajökull National Park in Iceland, formed as the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier retreated from the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. Climate change will have a big impact on Iceland and Icelandic waters, as on most other countries and regions. Almost all of Iceland's glaciers are receding, and scientists predict that they may largely vanish in the next 100-200 years.
