The Italy's Guarantor for the Protection of Personal Data (GPDP) announced on Friday the use of OpenAI's ChatGPT has been blocked in that country over privacy concerns. The agency also announced the initiation of an investigation, suggesting that the company may have violated Italy's data collection rules. The GPDP asserts that OpenAI lacks a legal foundation for the "extensive collection and storage of personal data" allegedly employed to "train the algorithm."
