Jute fiber production is very much connected to the poverty reduction in some of the poorest countries in the world like Bangladesh where majority of the good quality jute grows. Out of 160 million population in Bangladesh, almost 45 million are dependent on jute value chain and more than half of them are women who belong to the group at the bottom of the pyramid.
