Electricity production maintained growth, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on July 17. In the first half of 2023, the country generated 4,168 billion KWH of electricity, an increase of 3.8% year-on-year. By category, thermal power increased by 7.5%, hydropower decreased by 22.9%, nuclear power increased by 6.5%, wind power increased by 16.0%, and solar power increased by 7.4%.
