Tenerife wildfire forces village evacuations

Wildfire engulfs 1,800 hectares within 24 hours, leading to the evacuation of nearby villages on Wednesday. The flames stretched over a perimeter of 22 kilometres (14 miles) through dry woodlands on either side of the steep ravines near Mount Teide volcano, Spain's tallest peak, making access to the affected region challenging.
