A timelapse video shows a 97% crescent moon (full moon) rising behind Castel del Monte Castle in Andria, Puglia, Italy, on august 29, 2023. The full moon, also visible on august 30 and 31, will be the 2023 “Blue Moon” because it’s the second full moon in a month (august). As the first august full moon, the moon is now at its perigee, that point in its orbit where it is closest to the Earth and this phenomenon is called supermoon. Castel del Monte castle is an iconic monument of Puglia and Italy famous around the world and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
