Marsican Brown Bear "Amarena" Killed In Abruzzo, Italy

(FILE VIDEO) Marsican brown bear named "Amarena" was brutally killed with gunshots on august 31st in San Benedetto dei Marsi. The popular bear had two little cubs that will be controlled by Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National authority staff. Marsican bear is a a rare breed of bear that lives only in central Italy (about 60 bears) and is at risk of extinction. The video shows Amarena bear in 2020 with its 4 cubs (a record for Abruzzo Park) near Villalago, Italy. Death of Amarena is a danger for marsican bear species because it was one of the most prolific females.
