As the second largest cricket stadium in India, it is expected to accommodate approximately 82,000 spectators after the renovations are completed, just in time for the 2023 Cricket World Cup. Notably, Eden Gardens was the first stadium to host a World Cup final in 1987, following the first three at Lord's.
