Volker Turk, the Chief of Human Rights at the United Nations, expressed on Tuesday that Israel's comprehensive blockade on the Gaza Strip breaches international regulations. “The imposition of sieges that endanger the lives of civilians by depriving them of goods essential for their survival is prohibited under international humanitarian law,” the High Commissioner said.
