The year 2023 marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative. Over the past decade, China-Europe railway services have opened a new land transport corridor between Asia and Europe. By the end of September 2023, China-Europe railway services had reached 217 cities in 25 European countries, carrying more than 78,000 trains and 7.4 million TEUs of goods. The share of goods transported in total trade between China and Europe will increase from 1.5% in 2016 to 8% in 2022.
