Riot police used tear gas against anti-lockdown protesters in Warsaw Saturday, October 24, 2020. Pepper spray was also allegedly used by police. The confrontations came as hundreds marched through the city after the Polish authorities announced that public gatherings would be limited to up to five people due to the rising numbers of coronavirus infections, with bars and restaurants also set to close for two weeks. Poland enforced an early lockdown, limiting the spread of coronavirus, and have since been easing restrictions, but some protesters view the confinement as an infringement on freedom.
