On October 27, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced that in the first three quarters of 2023, the total number of Chinese domestic tourists was 3.674 billion, 1.58 billion more than the same period last year, a year-on-year increase of 75.5%. In the first three quarters of 2023, residents spent 3.69 trillion yuan on domestic travel, an increase of 1.97 trillion yuan or 114.4% over the same period last year.
