Climate activist Greta Thunberg travelled to Katowice in Poland for the start of the two-week talks and delivered a speech on Monday, 3 December 2018 to some of the decision-makers at the COP-24, UN climate summit. Thunberg inspired a global youth movement demanding stronger efforts to fight climate change after staging weekly protests outside the Swedish Parliament starting in 2018.
