Polish farmers are standing at a strike post by the road in Medyka, Poland, on November 23, 2023, as they begin to block truck transport. This is another border crossing between Poland and Ukraine. The farmers are joining the transport sector in a strike against the poor management of agricultural imports of Ukrainian produce. They are also demanding a renegotiation of transport deals between Ukraine and the European Union. Medyka is the fourth site of the strike. Protesters have already blocked three other crossings for truck transport, allowing only four trucks per hour, excluding humanitarian and military aid and sensitive chemical and food goods. According to the drivers, the queue to the Medyka crossing was nearly seven days long even before the strike started today.
