A strike demonstration is taking place in Munich, Germany, on December 5, 2023, led by Verdi, the police trade union Gewerkschaft der Polizei (GdP), the education trade union Gewerkschaft Erziehung und Wissenschaft (GEW), and others. They are demanding a 10.5% wage increase, or at the very least, a €500 increase for public employees in the federal states. During the demonstration, a protestor wearing a vest of the BDK (Federation of German Detectives) physically attacked a journalist.
