Tens of thousands march in protest of imprisoned politicians in Warsaw
Protesters with flags and signs take part in the "March of Free Poles" in Warsaw, Poland on 11 January, 2024. Around 35 thousand people took part in a march in protest of the imprisonment of politicians Mariusz Kaminski and Maciej Wasik who have been charged with abuse of power. The two politicians, who are also members of the largest opposition Law and Justice party (PiS) were arrested at the presidential palace this week where they were seeking refuge granted by president Andrzej Duda who is closely aligned with the Law and Justice party and its leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski.
