Politicians Mariusz Kaminski and Maciej Wasik have been pardoned by President Andrzej Duda on 23 January, 2024. The tow men were serving a sentence at the prison in Radom where a crowd gathered to demand their release. Both men previously lead the Polish anti-corruption bureau CBA and were sentenced for abuse of power. President Duda, who is closely alligned with the Law and Justice party (PiS) of which Kaminski and Wasik are members pardoned them for the second time after their sentencing.
