Relatives and comrades take part at a farewell ceremony for German citizen combat medic Diana Savita Wagner (call sign 'Snake'), who joined Ukrainian Armed Forces as a volunteer and was killed by Russian troops at the front on the eastern Ukraine, at the Mikhailovskiy Cathedral in Kyiv, Ukraine 14 February 2024, amid Russia's invasion of Ukraine. 36-year-old German combat medic Diana Savita Wagner came to Ukraine before the start of the Russian large-scale invasion, was in love with Ukrainian culture, traditions, studied the Ukrainian language and dreamed of becoming Ukrainian, according to local media. Diana Savita Wagner came from Germany, was a volunteer of the International Legion, and served as a combat medic in the assault squadron of the Carpathian Sich battalion. According to comrades, she was a professional in her field and thanks to her, the lives of more than a dozen soldiers were saved.
