Crime scene tape at the fatal shooting scene. Police investigating an overnight fatal shooting in Brooklyn, New York, United States on March 1, 2024. Thursday evening, February 29, 2024, at approximately 10:40 PM, police responded to a 911 call of a male shot in the vicinity of Brooklyn Avenue and St. Marks Avenue, within the confines of the 77th Precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed a 13-year-old male who sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the body. EMS responded and transported the male to NYC Health+Hospitals/Kings County where he was subsequently pronounced deceased. There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing. This is the third deadly shooting in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn this week as crime in New York City continues to rise.
