World's Longest Pedestrian Bridge Opened in Warsaw

Mayor of Warsaw Rafal Trzaskowski took the opportunity to campaign during the opening of a new pedestrian bridge in Warsaw, Poland on 28 March, 2024. The new bridge is the longest of its kind in the world, spanning nearly half a kilometre and connecting the city centre with the up and coming Praga district. On April 7th Poles will vote in local elections for the members of provincial assemblies, county and commune councils and local heads of government. The current elections will see a play-off to the parliamentary elections from last October in which the quasi-authoritarian Law and Justice (PiS) party lost power for the first time in eight years.
