A female hippopotamus named "Mae Mali," which means Jasmine, is eating fruits and vegetables arranged to look like a cake during her 59th birthday celebration at Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi province, east of Bangkok, on September 8, 2024. Mae Mali was given from the Tilberg Zoo, Netherlands, on June 8, 1967, when she was only 1 year old, and she has already given birth to 14 cubs. Mae Mali is now in good health and is estimated to be the longest-lived hippopotamus in Thailand.
