Poland to close Russian consulate in Poznan

The Polish Foreign Ministry has withdrawn its consent for the Russian consulate to operate in Poznan. The consulate staff will be recognized as persons whose presence on Polish territory is undesirable, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski told reporters in Warsaw, Tuesday Oct.22, 2024. SOUNDBITE: Radoslaw Sikorski, Polish Foreign Minister "As the minister of foreign affairs, I have information that the Russian Federation is behind sabotage attempts in Poland and allied countries. In connection with this, we withdrew our consent to the functioning of the Russian consulate in Poznan. Its personnel will be considered persons undesirable in the Republic of Poland. We demand an end to the waging of hybrid war against Poland and its allies. In the case of continuation, we reserve the right to take further decisive action."
