Uber Shikaras are being tied to a jetty on Dal Lake after Uber launches Kashmir's first water transport service, offering shikara bookings through its app in Srinagar. An official is saying each Uber Shikara ride can be booked for a period of one hour, allowing up to 4 passengers. Uber Shikara rides can be booked 12 hours prior and up to 15 days in advance. Shikara is a small boat bedecked with colorful upholstery. These boats are shooting to fame after the Bollywood movies in the 1970s, like Shami Kapoor’s ‘Kashmir ki Kali’ and Shashi Kapoor’s ‘Jab Jab Phool Khile,’ extensively shoot these movies on shikaras, besides the iconic songs. Thereafter, it is becoming a dream ride for honeymooners during their stay in Kashmir.
