Street Food - Potato tornado

Tornado potato is a popular street food in South Korea, also known as spring potato, twist potatoes, potato twisters, rotato potato, potato swirl, spiral potato, potato on a stick, tornado fries or (in Australia) chips on a stick, is a popular street food made from a large potato that is cut into a spiral shape. The potato is then skewered on a bamboo stick and deep-fried until crispy. Various spices or sauces can be added for seasoning, enhancing the flavor of the crispy exterior. The name "tornado potato" likely comes from the visual resemblance of the twisted potato on a stick to the swirling shape of a tornado. At a village fair, a stall was making potato tornadoes by deep frying potatoes at Tehatta, West Bengal, India on December 29, 2024.
