Papaya Tree - Carica Papaya

Two papaya trees (Carica papaya), also known as papaw or pawpaw trees are planted side by side, one tree is male and bears flowers, while the other is female and produces fruit, Various insects like Ceriagrion damselfly, Pumpkin fruit fly or tau fruit fly (Bactrocera tau), Khasi Falcate Oakblue (Mahathala ameria ameria) butterfly landing on top of the papaya tree, which usually help with pollination. Papaya is a nutritious food that is rich in fiber, vitamins A, C, and E, as well as minerals like potassium and magnesium, along with other nutrients and antioxidants. These trees, with their large decorative green leaves, can be found in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on January 4, 2025.
