Eurema Hecabe - Common Grass Yellow Butterfly Emerging - Animal India

Common Grass Yellow (Eurema Hecabe) is a small butterfly species found in Asia, Africa, and Australia. The larvae of the Common Grass Yellow butterfly are long, green, and rough, with a large head. During the pupal stage, which is usually solitary and green, they can sometimes cluster on a twig. After transforming into pupae, they become translucent within four days, revealing yellow coloration and the forewings' back borders. Here newly emerged Common Grass Yellow butterflies can be seen clinging to their empty pupal cases, resembling a garland, in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on November 20, 2024.
