The largest Polish trade union "Solidarity" is holding a large protest in Gdansk, Friday, Feb. 07, 2025 at the European Solidarity Center, where an off-site meeting of the European Commission takes place. The President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, together with the College of Commissioners, arrived in Gdansk, where an off-site meeting of the EC take place on the occasion of the Polish presidency of the European Union. The protesters are mainly agricultural workers, many of whom arrived on tractors, parking them on the site in front of the building where the EC meeting take place. The protesters' main demands boil down to abandoning the EU's climate standards, the so-called "Green Deal".
