Female ostrich Avantika is attending to her newly hatched chick and eggs at Jaipur Zoo, in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India, on March 19, 2025. This is marking Rajasthan's first-ever ostrich birth from eggs laid by Avantika, who is mating with Mallikarjun. Under the expert care of senior veterinarian Dr. Ashok Kumar Tanwar and his team—Annu, Anjana, Lal Singh, and Bhim Singh—the chick is healthy and thriving. The remaining eggs are still under incubation, while both mother and chick are receiving specialized diet and medical attention
