Jewelers are manufacturing Assamese traditional jewelry at a jewelry workshop ahead of Rongali Bihu in Ranthali village in the Nagaon District of Assam, on April 3, 2025. Assamese jewelry, commonly known as Axomiya Gohona, is officially securing a Geographical Indication (GI) tag, marking a momentous recognition of Assam’s rich cultural heritage. 'Axomiya Gohona' is a collection of handcrafted traditional necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and finger rings that reflect Assam’s flora, fauna, musical instruments, and cultural artifacts.
