Sindoor Jatra is starting on New Year's Eve and continuing until the second day of the Nepali New Year, marking the beginning of the Nepali New Year and the arrival of spring. People are applying sindoor (orange vermillion powder) on one another while singing and dancing to traditional music during the parade, carrying chariots of different gods and goddesses around the city
