The funeral of Pope Francis is taking place in Vatican City, Vatican, on April 26, 2025. Pope Francis passed away on April 21st at the age of 88. He was born in Argentina as Jorge Mario Bergoglio and made history as the first Latin American and the first Jesuit to be elected Pope in 2013. His burial is happening outside the Vatican in a simple wooden coffin at the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore.
